A History of Recycling
Metals Recycling Services, LLC (MRS) is a wholly owned venture of Nucor Corporation and operates as part of the Nucor subsidiary, Cincinnati-based, The David J. Joseph Company (DJJ), one of USA’s largest scrap metal companies.
1885
Our parent company, The David J. Joseph Company (DJJ), began.
1999
Metal Recycling Services was formed.
2008
Nucor Corporation acquired the assets of Metal Recycling Services and DJJ in April, 2008.
2012
Two additional recycling facilities (in Gastonia NC and Marion NC) were purchased from State Line Scrap.
Today
MRS operates 3 recycling facilities and 2 automobile shredders.
